Who this covers

If you live in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, UK GDPR and GDPR may give you extra rights. If you live in California, CCPA and CPRA style rules may apply instead or as well. This page summarises those rights in everyday language. It does not replace the Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and why. If your country has other consumer privacy laws, we will honour the ones that apply to you.

2

UK and EU rights

Under UK and EU rules you may ask to see the personal data we hold about you. You may ask us to correct mistakes or erase data we no longer need. You may ask us to limit some processing or to move data you gave us in a portable form. You may object to some kinds of processing that rely on legitimate interests. You can also complain to your local authority, such as the ICO in the United Kingdom.

3

California-style rights

California residents may ask what categories of personal information we collect and who we share them with. You may ask for deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions. You may ask us to correct inaccurate personal information we hold. We do not sell personal information in the everyday sense of selling a list. If that ever changes, we will update this page and offer the choices the law requires.

4

How to make a request

To make a privacy rights request, email support@nearry.app. Put Privacy rights request in the subject line. Include your account phone number or username and tell us which right you want to use. We may ask questions to confirm it is really you. Please do not send copies of identity documents unless we specifically ask for them.

5

How long we take

For GDPR style requests we aim to reply within one month. If your request is complex we may need more time, and we will tell you why. For California style requests we aim to reply within the timelines those rules set. If we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain the reason in clear words. Urgent safety issues can be flagged separately so we can prioritise them.

Authorised agents

Someone else may try to request on your behalf. We still need proof they are allowed to act for you. We may also contact you directly to confirm. We will not release your data to a stranger just because they know your username. If you are helping a family member, say so clearly in the email and be ready to show authority.
